so here’s the thing- my birthday celebration continued way past my actual birthday. that’s never happened before and i’m chalking that up to the ‘big’ milestone. alas, it had to come to an end as the husband’s birthday is tomorrow (he’s a valentines baby-awwwww)
the cool thing is i got some of the best gifts after my birthday… no, really, i did.
so here are a few pics with descriptions:
first up: the mantle (inspired by mylittlelife) now i will never have her grace or creativity but here’s what my mantle still looks like 10 days after my party. granted, its not up to her incredible creations, but its the best that we can do at the kimrey household. a shout out to the gals that decorated my house- some of those decorations are still up!
next: (the blue bag) ok, i’m not a brand girl. this was one of those wistful dreams- my grandmother instilled in me throughout my life that some things were ‘fine’ and worth having. maybe its because one of my favorite movies is breakfast at tiffany’s. maybe its the exclusivity of the branding alone. or the fact that i’ll never be able to buy anything in that store. (sorry, sb, but its one bag worth having). my little bridezilla (ok, she’s not but its fun to say) gave me this. i was SO EXCITED when i saw the bag and the little box inside. now i can’t share what’s in there since other people read this blog. my sweet binks bought it at the flagship store and contact me offline and i’ll share what was in there. suffice it to say its something i will use everyday of the rest of my life and will always think of her when i do. (the bag was not this big folks- its the magic of technology)
last: (and don’t we always save the best for that?) its no secret i’m a johnny depp fan. and many of you female readers don’t have to ask why. amy, the long-suffering patient mrs thompson, got this for me and its perfect. it came in after my birthday and i smiled SQUEALED when i saw it. (for those of you wondering what the hell it is, its a pillowcase):
