giving thanks…

if we tried to list all there is to be thankful for in our lives, we’d get so very lost in the details. there’s not enough time in the day, week, month, or year to thank HIM for.  here’s a short list of what i’m thankful for:

 

my husband, my kids, my family, my sista group, my friends, my community group, my fantastic church, facebookers, 80’s music, johnny depp, chocolate, heifer international, this blog which keeps me sane, twitter, blogroll, my blackberry, cheese popcorn, newsweek, my ‘liberry’ card, lost, sunday morning worship, living beyond myself and putting my faith in action, lime daquiris, and paris in springtime to name a few…

 

however, i received this email this frosty morning and from the alabama convention center– and it reminds me of the sweet smells, sights, and majesty of HIS work…

 

here’s just a taste to remind you how sweet it is.

 

1. cruising along the beach road…sunroof open wide to brilliant blue sky…and not worrying about what the wind does to your hair.

 

2. setting your lounge chair to “maximum recline”, closing your eyes and taking in deep, soothing breaths of ocean air

 

3. the soft squeak of powder-fine, pure quartz sand underneath your bare feet

 

4. sunny, 70 degree days at the end of november

 

5. friendly southern smiles that are even warmer than the temperature

 

6. the sweet smell of coconut oil wafting on the breeze

 

7. that last breathtaking moment when the sun slips down below the horizon leaving a sky of vivid orange and pink

 

8. taking time to enjoy the small, simple, beautiful things that make every day a blessing
